HOUSING BLOCK IN SANT JUST

The implementation of the project recognizes the area where the block is located. The plot is the limit of the urbanized area of Sant Just Desvern and faces the Collserola park. That is why both the block of flats and the adjacent public space intend to be a point of union between CITY-NATURE where the green is twinned with "already built", creating a set of naturalized spaces for the rest of the neighbors. With this same philosophy, the proposed architecture seeks a balance between people and nature.

Through square geometry, the program is organized through rings around this central courtyard, combining spaces for passage and communication with the different rooms used in the home. The project groups the entrances, services and bathrooms to an inner ring linked to the patio, as opposed to the rooms and living-dining-kitchen rooms that open onto the exterior facades. An outer ring groups all the terraces of the different houses and acts as a filter between the outside and the inside. The building opens to the outside and closes in on itself in the courtyard, in such a way that privacy is given to the accesses of the houses. To make the most of the sun and views, the proposal places the living rooms in the corners. A set of vertical slat panels (fixed or mobile, depending on the case) act as facade protection in the foreground and these manage to give the homes a certain amount of privacy and greater control of sunlight. The building rests on a reinforced concrete plinth where the wooden block rises from the ground and generates this sensation of weightlessness with light structures.

In total, the block groups 30 dwellings. 5 apartments per floor on a total of 6 floors, combining 2 and 3-bedroom apartments with useful surfaces of approximately 60 and 72 m², respectively.
